A conversation with Leah Dickey, Grand Prize Winner of the Green Icon Challenge

Last month, in partnership with Yahoo! Green, we went searching for the next green icon to represent green related content across the Yahoo! Network.  After several weeks and almost 500 entries later, the voting has ended and the community has decided. The winner, Leah Dickey, agreed to answer a few questions about her experiences, passions, the icon and of course the non-profit organization that she selected. 

What is your current role at Pixelgate Media?

I founded PixelgateMedia.com in 2005 to help companies and organizations make their point – through print and web design, logo and identity work, and digital and traditional illustration.

    A great big kudos to Leah Dickey for designing a killer icon that was selected by the Bix community as the best!  Here is a screen shot of the Leah’s icon along with the two runner-ups.

    Leah has recommended that Yahoo! donate the $20,000 to the Green Street Project, a nonprofit organization that’s collaborating with civic leaders, government and the media to get people engaged in making Chicago a leading environmentally sustainable city.
