If you are a movie buff like me, you will know that there were a ton of great movies in 2007; and the great thing is that 2007 is not yet over.  We wanted to get some early predictions for the 2008 Academy Award Winners and you will be surprised at the results thus far.

A quick recap of 2007 shows that Hollywood inundated us with a variety of sequels (so many that movie critics dubbed it the “year of the threequels”); including Spider-Man 3, Rush Hour 3, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Shrek 3, Ocean’s Thirteen, The Bourne Ultimatum, Rush Hour 3 and Resident Evil: Extinction. In fact, it’s one of these “threequels” that is currently leading the contest:

Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!! Grrrrrr.

Yes indeed, Captain Jack Sparrow has docked his ship, gave his shipmates liberty for the weekend and came to visit Bix! Don’t believe me? Scroll down and you will see Jack Sparrow performing the Irish Folk Song, Whisky in a Jar (clap clap clap).  Contrary to the belief that pirates have horrible, wretched voices; Jack performs this song quite eloquently!

Besides being over 40 and still looking as hot as ever, what do you think these celebrities have in common?   You guessed it…they are all a part of the “Who’s the Hottest Celebrity over 40?” contest here at Bix.  The current results are not surprising; but the contest isn’t even close to being over! 

Now, I am sure you want know who is winning the contest so I’ll give you a hint or two.  She appeared in one episode of a Different World, had a few guest appearances on Knots Landing; she has been in movies such as Boomerang and Swordfish and was the lead actress in Perfect Stranger.  And, if you still don’t know who she is, you better ask somebody.

In 2006, Scarlett Johansson was voted the Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire. In 2007, Charlize Theron took the title.  We here at Bix decided to run our own contest to see who in fact the winner should really be.  We also added some healthy competition to the mix…Jessica Alba, Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Eva Mendez and Eva Longoria to name a few. Well, the Bix community has stepped up to the plate and the preliminary results are in.  Drum roll please…as it stands now, Jessica Alba has a healthy lead in front of this years winner, Charlize. In fact, over 13,000 people have picked Jessica over Charlize in a head to head face off!
